On a recent trip to Paris, France, my wife and I traveled to Normandy to pay our respects and visit the hallowed ground where the D-Day Invasion took place. During our surreal walk on Omaha Beach, we happened upon this rock with what appeared instantly to us as a heart springing up from the past. It was as if to say that love of country and love of friends and family made the sacrifice worth it for these brave men.
That day was the most meaningful of our trip to France. The rock remains on that beach for others to appreciate but we brought this memory back to share with others. This photograph would make the perfect gift for a veteran, those that have visited Normandy, or any loved one.

My love for travel coupled with my career as a commercial pilot has afforded me the opportunity to see the beauty of this world in both place and people. My wife and I have always loved traveling and immersing ourselves in a location that often was very different from the world we lived in day-to-day. We liked the sense of being transported away from our everyday lives and learning as much as we could while we were there. We might have packed different things in our luggage based upon where we were going, but the one thing that always made the trip was our camera.
