White Swan Echinacea flowers are presented in high contrast against the dark background. This photo was taken in the town of Sidney, British Columbia on Vancouver Island. The dark background was created by angling the camera so that the dark brick walkway below and behind the flowers provided a stark contrast to the brilliant white petals of this coneflower. The background was blurred using a wide aperature and telephoto lens.

My love for travel coupled with my career as a commercial pilot has afforded me the opportunity to see the beauty of this world in both place and people.
